Lucky Coin

George "Beau" Brummell, for a long time the arbiter of fashion in Regency London, believed that the loss of his lucky coin occasioned his subsequent bad luck.

His gambling debts became so vast, that he had to flee to France in order to escape his creditors. Things were never rumptitum for him again. He died in poverty in 1840 aged 61.

It would be interesting to know if anyone found his coin and whether it still exists. If it does, does the current owner enjoy good fortune?

I think perhaps the model Jordan found that coin, what else could explain her continued success in the British consciousness?
